If you are looking for an attorney in Fort Lauderdale who will fight for you, communicate with you, or simply do the job they were hired to do—keep looking. Hiring Roman Groysman was the single most frustrating legal decision of my life.

I am sharing my experience to save others from the stress I endured. What should have been a straightforward landlord-tenant dispute over a $10,000 security deposit turned into a five-year saga of incompetence and neglect.

The Full Story

The 5-Year Ghosting Act

I hired Roman Groysman to help recover a security deposit from a landlord who had no legal leg to stand on. This was a clear-cut case. Yet, instead of aggressively pursuing the return of my money, Mr. Groysman let this case drag on for five painful years.

Communication was virtually non-existent.

  • He would never return calls.
  • Emails went into a black hole.
  • The only time I could get a response was if I threatened him.

A lawyer should be your advocate, not someone you have to chase down just to get a status update.

A Hollow Victory

In August 2025, we finally received a Final Default Judgment. But let's be clear: this didn't happen because of Mr. Groysman's legal prowess. It happened because the other party simply gave up and stopped responding.

The court awarded the returned deposit plus interest, totaling roughly $12,800.

While getting a judgment sounds like a win, a judgment is just a piece of paper if your lawyer refuses to enforce it.

Refusing to Finish the Job

This is where the incompetence became negligence.

"This Court finds that Plaintiffs are the prevailing party, and are entitled to an award of attorney's fees and costs pursuant to Fla. Stat. §83.49."

— Court Order, August 2025

The judge specifically retained jurisdiction to award these fees. Any competent lawyer would immediately file the motion to get those fees and move to collect the money owed.

Roman Groysman has done absolutely nothing.

Since the judgment was signed in August 2025:

  1. 1He has not filed for attorney's fees.
  2. 2He has not taken steps to collect the $12,800 judgment.
  3. 3He has returned to his habit of ignoring all my attempts to contact him.

I am essentially begging him to take the court's money and finish the case, and he refuses to act. I am now left with a judgment I cannot enforce and a lawyer who has checked out completely.

The Verdict

If you want an attorney who is aggressive, responsive, and cares about your case—do not hire Roman Groysman.
